Hidden Hills Homes for Sale
Named one of “America’s Most Exclusive Gated Communities” by Forbes magazine, Hidden Hills is a bastion of serenity and exclusivity at the western end of San Fernando Valley. With a total area of just over 1.6 square miles, Hidden Hills has a population of less than 2,000, which is perfect if you’re looking to live in a quiet community with plenty of space and privacy.
Hidden Hills is one of the wealthiest cities in the country and ranks as the highest-income city in Los Angeles County. With everything it has to offer, it’s no surprise why it’s one of the most desirable places to live in the region. Hidden Hills is all about enjoying the best of rural Southern California living without giving up the perks of being in close proximity to L.A., including Malibu and its beaches. It was developed in the 1950s by A.E. Hanson, the developer of Palos Verdes’ Rolling Hills, another equestrian-themed community.
As its name implies, Hidden Hills is secluded and is far removed from the buzz of nearby L.A. Residents here have worked over the years to preserve their quality of life, which is still strongly rural. This is the kind of place that doesn’t have street lights or sidewalks, where properties are large enough to house equestrian facilities and bridle trails are regularly used. Hidden Hills abuts the beautiful Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve, where you can get the chance to try out hiking, biking, and mountain trails.
Hidden Hills is home to many families with children. There is one elementary school located within the community and the city is served by the Las Virgenes Unified School District.
The city has great community events that can be enjoyed by all members of the family. Kids can go to summer camp, participate in theater programs, and more. All throughout the year, Hidden Hills has a number of special events scheduled. There are community-wide barbecues in the summer and a variety of annual parades, snow days, and carnivals.
There are no more than 700 homes in the city and properties here are typically large and sit on expansive lots. Properties range from ultramodern estates to ranch-style homes that come with the full complement of equestrian facilities.
