Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. Found in the intersection of the 101 and 405 Freeways, this flood control basin has over 2,000 acres of open space. This recreation area is packed with an extensive array of facilities which include two parks and an 80-acre sports field that has the best grass cricket pitches in the United States. You’ll find two golf courses here, the Encino Golf Course and the Balboa Golf Course, offering a total of 36 holes. The park also has an archery range, an indoor cycling track as well as an extensive bike path, tennis courts, a dog park, and a manicured Japanese garden.
